the development of arts and culture, and promotes
science and technology.

Yonam Culture Foundation

Under the belief that LG should serve as the foundation for national prosperity, Yonam Culture Foundation engages in various public welfare activities in the fields of arts and culture, science and technology, and academic research. 

Through such places as the world-class performance venue LG Arts Center, designed by Tadao Ando, LG Discovery Lab envisioning the future transformed by AI technology, and LG Sangnam Library, Korea’s first digital library, we make every effort to ensure that all strata of society can enjoy a prosperous and happy tomorrow.

Programs

  • LG Arts Center Seoul

    LG Arts Center is a performance venue designed by the world-renowned architect Tadao Ando. Located in Seoul’s Magok District, it aims to “give back to society through creation and exchange of arts and culture.”

  • LG Discovery Lab

    Operated by Yonam Culture Foundation, LG Discovery Lab is a non-profit institute of AI education for young people. It provides an opportunity for young people to explore the future shaped by AI technology and discover their own potential.

  • LG Sangnam Library

    LG Sangnam Library opened in a private residence donated by Honorary Chairman Koo Ja-kyung. As Korea’s first digital library, it has set a new milestone and undergone reforms and transformations. Currently, it provides Digital Talking Books (DTB), thereby playing a leading role in bridging the information gap for blind and visually impaired people.

구인회 창업회장은 LG의 지속적인 성장토대를 닦은 시점에서
기업의 사회공헌 활동이 중요하다고 깊이 인식하여
1969년 LG연암문화재단을 설립하였습니다.

LG연암문화재단은 구인회 창업회장의 “기업은 국가와 민족 번영의 밑거름이 되고, 사회에 기여해야 한다”는 뜻에 따라 1969년에 설립되었습니다. 국가의 미래를 짊어질 유능한 인재를 양성하고 과학기술의 진흥과 문화예술의 발전을 뒷받침함으로써 사회의 발전과 민족문화 창달에 기여하고자 했습니다. 국제 공동연구 지원, 영메이커 프로그램, LG상남도서관 운영 등의 다채로운 공익사업을 진행하였고, LG아트센터와 LG디스커버리랩을 통해 공연예술과 과학기술의 발전을 지원하고 있습니다.
